Its difficult to compare the photos at the bottom. Smog is hardly a good ambience to take photo comparisons. Furthermore, they were taken on three different occasions.
Some new fz10 photos were posted today at http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288710203 They are very encouraging. |

Apparently the only usable ISO is 50. This is NOT encouraging to me...

All the shots were taken at iso 50 and at wb cloudy. From my experience with the fz1 I would expect the fz10 to also do well at iso 100. Above that, noise may become an issue. I have also found that the color can be somewhat enhanced with white balance set to cloudy as is the case in these photos. I certainly wouldn't say that these samples are NOT encouraging just because they were taken at iso 50.

I am just grumbling because I have seen virtually NO FZ10 shots at anything other than ISO 50 which were really usable.
And because I had such high hopes that the FZ10 would finally offer me a replacement for my Canon Pro90 IS. I really like the small size, unobtrusiveness, silence, and folding live LCD that some digicams offer - and I also like long zoom and stabilization. Sadly the Minolta A1 has a short zoom and an actual (noisy) shutter. I still have some hopes for the FZ10 but have not been encouraged by the samples seen so far. As noted, only ISO 50 seems really usable. The Canon Pro90 IS, though only 2.6 mpx, is usable up to ISO 400 if you are willing to use Neatimage. Here's looking forward to real reviews of the FZ10. |

According to Bob, Steve should be getting an FZ10 evaluation sample this week, so I would hope by next week we will have some answers.

I hope Steve will mention what firmware version is used by the tested camera. |
