Default FZ5 sensor cleaning

I have a DMC FZ5 which has a dark spot on pictures that have a light background, eg blue skies, or sandy beaches. The size of the spot varies with the zoom, and cleaning won't clear it. I am assuming it is a speck of dust on the sensor itself, or within the lens.

In the UK, I have to send it away plus 30, to get the Panny service people to look at it, plus then any additional costs......Any ideas what the cleaning costs might be?

I am wondering whether to just change camera, or get it serviced.
