Welcome to the Forum! There are lots of cheap and very underpowered slave flash units out there. So be careful in making your selection. I have found that two different slave flashes are powerful enough to provide realistic extra flash power when you need it. The first is the Digislave 3000 unit. The second is the Metz 28 CS2 slave flash. The Metz would be my first choice. It is pleasantly small in size and it even incorporates its own fold out and down foot attachment pad for the camera to mount on. It also adjust able flash output as well which is very convenient. I have attached a photo showing the Metz Flash. Have a great day. Sarah Joyce |

Hello Mtclimber.
Thanks for advice. i saw now your comparison Any Experience with the Metz 28 or Digi Slave 3000 Slave Fla i think that Digi is more powerful than Metz. is it? is it a big difference in power between this two flashes. what about Sony HVL-FSL1B? Thanks |

What about this? http://www.kaiser-fototechnik.de/en/...ge.asp?nr=1501
Can i use then any flash with this and fz38? Which remote flash trigger will work best with Panny? Need i remote trigger with pre-flash function? have FZ38 pre-flashes in all flash setups or just in red-eye setup? i think i always see two flashes one after another. but in red-eye setup are flashes more remote from one to another and first is significantly weaker. thanks |

Any slave flash includes in its construction a built-in photo electric "trigger." Therefore, a trigger like the Kaiser trigger you linked is not required at all. In terms of light output the DigiSlave 3000 and the Metz-28 flash are about the same. The Sony brand slave flash has only about 60% of the power out put of the Metz-28 and DigiSlave 3000 units. The feature that I feel makes the Metz-28 more desireable is the fact that you can very easily increase and decrease the out of the flash. Have a great day. Sarah Joyce |

i thought i would buy some trigger and Metz 36 C-2 flash. will that work?
how much more power has Metz 36 C-2 compare to 28 CS-2? Sarah do you know good trigger with pre-flash sync? the best will be the trigger which works like trigger in 28 CS-2 (Learning mode: optimum adaptation of the flash unit to the camera-specific pre-flash only once at the beginning). thanks and have a nice day too. |

No, offense intended. But let's work our way through this step by step.
(1) the trigger you linked to mounts on a hot shoe. Your FZ-35 has no hot shoe. (2) Is your idea to put the trigger on the bottom of the flash and then mount the flash an trigger combination on an accessory bracket that has a hot shoe fitting? That might work, although I am not positive. (3) The Metz-28 is actually more powerful than the Metz-36 flash. The Metz-36 is NOT usb upgradable, the Metz 28 is usb upgradable. Sarah Joyce |
