TZ5 zoom noise problem/fault

Hi .... has anyone come across this problem? I have a TZ5, which has been great, but it's developed a zoom noise problem. When using the zoom, it seems to be moving much slower (min to max) than it used to and it sounds as though its really straining and groaning against perhaps a rubber seal inside. It's been back to the dealer (bought online) and returned in the same condition and untouched. I intend to telephone them but wonder if anyone has come across this problem too.
