Default Across the LI Sound - TCONN-17

This is a picture I took yesterday from Meigs Point at Hammonassette State Park in Connecticut looking across the Long Island Sound. I used Aperture Priority at about f. 5.6 and zoomed all the way with the TCONN-17.

The photo has been re-sized from 5MB to 256 Kb.

The land in the background is Long Island New York at about 12 miles away. I am surprised at the fact I can read the numbers on the sail quite clearly on the original photo USA-5095_ and J/160. I used no tripod but had a railing to rest the camera on. I have no idea how far the sail boat is but it was out there and I didn't expect to be able to read the numbers.

Original photo can be seen here in My Photos http://home.comcast.net/~chris0381/site/

I can only imagine what the military can do.

Anyone feel free to share your full zoom Teleconverter photos if you like.
