Default FZ35 movie mode questions

I plan on attending an outdoor nighttime rock concert this month and would like to capture some dynamic video footage. I would like to know if anyone has put their FZ35 Panny to the test under these conditions and if they had satisfactory results.

I have experimented with some nighttime videos using both iA and Manual modes (manual mode with "aperture" priority and digital zoom). The auto seemed brighter throughout the zoom range. The manual was darker up to the target focal point, but then seemed OK.

The digital zoom apparently only works in the "M" mode. The digital zoom seems to be fairly free of obvious noise if I limit it to around 30-36x, but the image stablilization is not as good as when I use the maximum 18x optical zoom.

Does anyone have any ideas or results to share? If not, I will give you a full report in a couple of weeks!

Can you not just reduce the mp to something like 5mpEZ and use the extra optical zoom rather than use digital zoom? other than that i have no other help havent fully used the video on mine yet.

Sounds interesting. I'll take a look at that option. Thanks!
