Panasonic licenses the 3rd party batteries. Get batteries that specifically state that they will work in a Panasonic FZ-35/38.

I use the Lenmar DLP006 battery which works with my FZ35 just fine..i bought it off Amazon for USD 10 if i recall correctlly..took it to Ladakh - temperatures ranged from 1 Degree C to 26 Degree C...worked just fine.

I have the same battery that Rohan has and it works great. I switched back and forth on my Europe trip and couldn't have been happier.
