Default My FZ10 EVF is acting strange ...

Here is the setting: Indoors at moderate light. (Manual mode, Flash disabled).

When I press on the shutter half-way ... the picture on the screen brightens up a notch ... then darkens considerably.

Ok ... so I figured, the camera is telling me this is how dark the picture is going to look.

So I go ahead and take the picture anyways (thats the good thing with digital cameras) ...

Guess what ... the EVF guessed WRONG !!!!!

The picture was way too bright (other extreme !).

What is going on with that !!! Why did the EVF go way dark ?

My DSC-F717 from Sony does not do this.

This EVF problem is compounded when using a external flash.

This is not an inexpensive camera folks ... and the EVF technology is not new (my old Kodak camera does a very good job with it).

Is this fixable ... or should I cut my losses and wait for the next round ?

Try it in aperture preferred mode and use the histogram to determine the exposure.
