Would a 58mm add on lens with a 46mm to 58mm step up ring work on the FZ35?

Not sure about the 46mm to 58mm step-up brownie1. I heard that a LA3 Adapter or a Boyer is recommended, as attaching it directly to the lens is not a wise decision. The lens automatically retracts after a certain while when you're not doing anything (can be turned off), and it would not be able to do so then. I'm not sure what the other benefits or drawbacks are though.

As for the Canon 500D close-up lens, I read that one whom bought the DCR-250 and already had the Canon 500D, said that the zoom of the DCR-250 is better, but that you have to be rather close to your subject.

I just ordered both the LC-55 and DCR-250, results will be posted when I got them
