Default FZ35 Purchase QUestion

To be thorough, I am cross-posting here in addition to the "What should I buy: forum but feel free to just just post recommendations here.

I'm a newbie with minimal experience in the camera world and this will be my first camera.

I wish to purchase the Panasonic FZ35 and wish to buy a filter to protect the lens and possibly the barrell mechanism.

Is the best way to do this is to buy a Pemeraal adaptor and a 62mm Hoya UV filter (I was reading this suggestion on another site)?

If not, any suggestions would be appreciated since I know next to nothing about cameras. I've read previous posts about buying a UV filter 46mm but I'm thinking that provides minimal protection for the camera (lens only) or am I being overly paranoid?

I would just go with the 46mm to avoid any vignetting...I purchased my uv at amazon for 10 bucks and its a good one imo

I bought a standard 46mm uv filter (same as this one below) - Offers more
than enough protection for the lens in my opinion.

Cross posting is really not politically correct. And I have already answered your question in your initial posting in the "What Camera Shall I Purchase" folder. In addition is you searched in this folder you would also find that your question has already been answered as well.
