Default Squishy noise when zooming - DMC-FZ100

When I zoom in with my new DMC-FZ100 I hear this squishy sound coming from the mechanism. It sounds as if there was some liquid substance in the sprockets that allow the movement of the lens forward, except that the camera didn't have any liquid fall on it.

This noise is far less noticeable when I zoom back. I wonder if this is just some lubricant grease or something similar, but before settling for this camera I had two Nikons and one Sony, also superzoom cameras and none of them had that noise.

It doesn't bother me at all, I just wonder if it's a symptom of a faulty unit in which case I have to call Amazon for a replacement right away.

Can anyone please try this in your FZ100s and let me know if you can hear it?
