Default Panasonic FH20 "system zoom error"

Hi, I've had the Panasonic FH 20 only 6 months, worked great until last weekend...camera will not zoom, and I repeatedly get message saying "system zoom error", after which camera turns itself off, or "please turn camera off and back on again"...something to that effect. Any advice as to how to fix this?

Some folks say to turn the camera over and place the lens on a table surface then turn camera on, letting the weight of the camera hold back the lens opening. it may or may not solve your problem.

What it sounds like is somehow the lens over zoomed / retracted too much.

If the camera is only 6 months old, I would take it back to where you purchased it or send it away for repair if you got a 90 day warranty

Hope this helps you
