I bought a tiny Milkweed bush about a month ago and planted it in the corner of my backyard, hoping it will get big enough in a few years to host monarchs. Well, to my surprise, I found a monarch caterpillar on it yesterday!! At the rate he is eating, I will have to plant another bush very soon.
![]() This plant is only about 12" tall! You can see the caterpillar right in the middle

How kind you are for the environment and the butterflys!
These bushes are regarded as weeds here so my Mother has to "steal" them from around the lake near her and grow them in pots in her backyard so the butterflys can continue. |

Thanks banksy, I've never seen these plants growing wild in my area, so I was amazed that a Monarch butterfly found this tiny thing to lay eggs on!!!! Now I'm encouraged to plant more so I can also help these amazing butterflies continue!
