Default Shooting Landscape with FZ10

The FZ10 does not have a preset mode for shooting landscape photos (as is common on many other digicams). By "landscape," I mean scenic distant views, without any subject in foreground. What is the recommended method for shooting landscape pix: using Priority, or A/S/M,...or some other setting? :?:

I haven't noticed any problems just using auto (P) mode for outdoor shots focused at a distance. I'm not sure what the landscape mode does though, I couldn't find an explanation in my 4300's manual.

In real-world use though, auto has worked well for me.
