What I'd like to see (but never will...) would be the LX7's sensor dropped in a bridge with a similar lens to the FZ200- and yes,I'd happily accept the loss of zoom for the extra IQ...
Something around the size of the FZ200 with a 28-300mm f/2.8 range would do for most as a walkabout range I think....
Oh,did I forget... I want a manual zoom also...

As for the FZ200's successor- I haven't heard anything whatsoever....

What's with the adverts? yuck. Not sure I know what you want Simon, not that knowledgeable about cameras. Was hoping a new camera was coming out so the price of the FZ200 would go down a bit. still high for me.

Panasonic usually comes out with a new model in the summer, and people were really looking forward to a new FZ, but it never came. The general consensus is that there will not be a new model this year.

If they do "update" the FZ200, I'm guessing they could improve the viewfinder, add a higher res' LCD and add a touchscreen (not that I'd want one...),WiFi and/or GPS- and I wonder if they might be tempted to increase the resolution...!

G'day all

Simon - maybe some or all of those things

For my money, i'd like others to follow Panny's lead for a 'real-sharp continuous f2,8 zoom lens' rather than keep going for huge zooms that are full of IQ problems

Fewer mpx and better image-to-noise responses could go down well too, along with 'real-good' viewfinders ... even tho the latest batch of EVFs are so great, what more could they do?

Phil

Sorry I didn't get back sooner but very busy with Uni work. Was hoping to hear they were bringing a new camera out so the price of the 200 would go down, 400 is a bit steep for me. Oh well...

Ozzie- my link comes up as 350- so I'm guessing it depends on where you click the link from- so as eysha is a UK resident,it should be fine...
