Canon, Casio, Kodak, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sigma, Sony...

Anything missing here? Another company whose name starts with 'P' (hint: rhymes with "catatonic") perhaps? Hmmm...

Happy Canada day!

I was just looking at DPReview's news page and a "find" on the word "firmware" returned 5 hits on just that one page! Wake up Panasonic!

Fuji seems to be absent as well.

If Panasonic wants to be viewed as a major player like the Canon's and Nikon's, they really need to start building better brand loyalty. Offering better post purchase support in the form of firmware upgrades would be a good start.

If fellow Japanese consumer electronics giant Sony can do it, so can Panasonic. Sony seems to be doing a lot better job at building credability for their marque in digi-cams than Panasonic.
