After purchasing the DMC-FZ10 based on reviews, I had some trouble initially with the camera getting decent shots. After using it 3 weeks and getting pics not as good as my Olympus 2000UZ, I took it on holidays with the manual in the hopes of getting used to it enough to be pleased with my purchase. After 2 weeks on the road, one of the prongs broke in the battery compartment rendering it useless other than with the AC plug. It was purchased online in the States and the camera is a U.S. model with both the U.S. and Canadian seals. It broke here in Canada and Panasonic Canada is refusing to honor the warranty and repair it here and Panasonic U.S. isn't going to do anything about it either. WARNING!!!!! Unless you're planning to only use a Panasonic product in the country you purchased it, just pray nothing happens or you'll be paying for the repair out of your pocket. I would never have believe Panasonic wouldn't service its items worldwide like Sony and Olympus. Take that into serious consideration when purchasing a mobile product.
