I have a new FZ1 and am just getting the hang of it. Currently, my biggest bugaboo is overexposed shots. Whether taken outside (the weather has been cloudy), or inside shooting the birds at my feeders outdoors, the pictures are way too light and lack contrast.

One problemsituation stems fromstanding inside the house trying to zoomup on birds at the ouside feeders. Another occurred recently when trying to photograph a friend's collie against the background of a cement path. In both, focusing on dark parts in the composition did *not* help.

Shooting a bird in the tree outside my window using "natural" vs. standard setting improved the image. Changing the exposure to "cloudy" did not help. Changing to aperture priority made things worse! (Too dark at f4 when f3.3 was the automatic choice.)

Any suggestion from the FZ1 users on this list?
