I had a Chinon Auto S280 left over from my SLR days so I trolled around the net and found the trigger voltage was within the spec for the FZ20 (5.3v). It works a treat and has done so for some 9 months now without any problems at all as regards operation. The S280 can be picked up on Ebay for as little as £5 and with a guide no. of 92@100asa, an effective distance of 7m on auto, and a 35mm (analogue) angle, bounce head and a recycle time of 0.5 (auto) to 10 sec is a worthwhile addition to your outfit, especially considering the cost of the Panasonic flash unit or even a compatible. The manual is available here -
