Have Panasonic Lumix FZ20. Have Vivitar 'Auto Thyristor 3300' hotshoe mounted electronic flash. Have read about damage to camera from inappropriate trigger voltage. Will this flash unit fry my camera if I try it on the hotshoe?

The Vivitar 3300 is probably 20 yrs old, powered by two AA batteries. When fully charged, I measure 4.5 volts DC across the shoe contacts.

The closest model on CK's page shows a 3500 which is OK. If you measure that voltage you should be alright. Measure it a few more times to make sure you're accurate.
