Thank you all. I guess the majority of US would rather protect the lens by using a Quality brand of filter that would have no detramental effects to an image. I am using the NextPhoto adapter ring, w/58mm UV on the Leica and also have a Pro-Technica adapter with a 62mm UV on that. I am not nearly as paranoid of using a micro cleaning rag on the filters as I would be of using it on the Leica.

That was an excellent observation by Nick. I had not given the subject much thought, but how wonderfully right he is. With my Phayee adapter and Hoya Pro 1 UV filter, I now have a complete sealed system. No more worries about dust and especially sand getting into the delicate lens mechanism. Thanks Nick for the heads up.
