I have just purchased a FZ20. My professional photographer friend who turned me on to the FZ20 has cautioned me on using any filters with a Leica lens. His reason is that the optics are so good on the Leica lens design that the filters will negatively interfere with those optics. Your thoughts please.

I only use a UV Filter more for protection as I scratched my lens in the first week. Small scratch which doesn't appear in photos, but annoying all the same. I would tend to do "filter" work in Photoshop instead of using real filters.

Never heard of the Leica & Filter issue before though...
