I seem to remember somebody asking a good way to shoot campfire shots on here awhile back. I started experimenting with it over the weekend and was really happy with how some of them came out. It seems that the shutter speeds give similar effects as when you're shooting water... the more "disconnected" fire was shot with 1/1000 and higher speeds.

Edit: If you don't have a lot of zoom on your camera, I would suggest sticking to shooting pictures of matches, stove burners, or from far away. If you melt your camera, don't blame me :-)
