What is superior is the willingness to choose and then take the time to learn how to use what you choose. These cams take a bit of a learning curve and to the help of guys like NickTrop, boyzo, fmoore, narmer and nooner one can enjoy the Panas even more.

I am not knocking the S2. Just that this forum has the experts and one can learn so much coming here. I know I have. Waiting for the next best thing will only delay the joy of taking great pictures. If not digital, stick with film.

"...we're not sure if there's much of an improvement over the FZ3, other than the increase in megapixels. A better buy might be the Olympus Camedia C-765 Ultra Zoom, though you'd have to do without image stabilization and settle for only 4MP and 10X optical zoom."

:?: It doesn't have IS - a key feature that makes ultrazooms useable in the first place, one less megapixel, and 20% less zoom capability... but it might be a better buy.

They pay people to write these things???
