I'm looking at possibly purchasing a Phoenix 3x teleconverter for occasional use with my FZ-20. Most of my photograpy is wildlife related and sometimes even the 12x zoom doesn't cut it.

Has anyone had experience with this particular brand? Any comments- pro or con?

All comments, suggestions welcome!

What I say is not from experience using what you are asking but anything beyond the TCON 17 (1.7x) won't give you the sharpness of the Leica (like-ka) lens.

Though pricey the LTZ10 (1.45x) has shown great results.

The Raynox 2020 (2.2x) had some serious CA and softness.

The Raynox 1540 (1.54x) has some good sharpness in the center and then the edges of the pictures seem to blur and it has some CA.

The best of the lot is the TCON 14b (1.4x) Couple with either the Phayee, Chen, Pemeraal, Yoshidaand LoveLife adapter you would get the best results for your money.

Phoenix has been around and so has the FZ's but it seems no one posted anything for one of two reasons.

Never used it.

The results were so bad that no one wants to admit it.
