I'm considering buying a wide-angle lens for my Panasonic FZ-20. Having seen the price of the 'official' Panasonic one (around £300!), I was wondering if anyone could recommend an alternative?

I have the RAynox dcr 720 which works OK

Some others like the Raynox dcr 6600 which produces a nice photo with very little distortion but the is a little vignetting.

And another from Raynox is the HD7000 wich seems to be the best of their offerings.

No vignetting ,very little distortion and useable thruout the zoom range.

There also are the Olympic offerings the Wcon07 and 08.

Are you aware of the fact you will need an adapter to use a wide angle lens?

You really should have one anyway but it is necessary for most any add on lenses and especially WA lens.

Here is one to consider.

And here is a site that talks of lenses and anything that applies to a FZ10 also applies to the FZ20.

Cheers for that!

I've got the lens adapter that came with it, and have also purchased another, metal one like this:

I take it that either of those will be fine if I was to get a wide-angle lens?
