A small possum appeared in our backyard, he was lost so took him in my hands and placed him on the spot where we feed possums a night, I think he has an injured back leg, so I will probably need to take him to an animal shelter to-morrow

He is a much prettier version than we have here. Ours look more like huge rats. And we would NEVER even think of picking one up ! One bite like that would require a trip to the emergency room for rabies shots!

Nice pics, though.:-)

Beautiful little creature. #2 is a precious shot, out of the ordinary and very creative.

Kudos to you John for being a very compassionate person. A lesser man would not have bothered.

Good shots John. I really like #2. Our Opossum look a little different. Their nose is longer and the tails are not as big.

very sweet :G

No possums here I'm afraid - the closest we come is to them is on old Beverly Hillbillies re-runs! Gawd Granny - have a heart and find something else for that stew!!!!

Hiroshi the tail is an essential feature see how its coiled around the hook hence the name "Ring Tail possum"
Glad to say he has retrurned home way up in the very tall Cyprus trees where they sleep by day as they are nocturnal so to see a possum roaming around during the day is very unusual.
