Planning on buying the panasonic dmc-fz30 and intriqued by this RAW idea -- many letters to this most informative site suggest using Photoshop - ACR 3.2 to process. As a raw (no pun intended!) amateur I'd like to know if there is a cheaperequivelent of Photoshop? Many thanks, Micheltjr.

You should be able to use Photoshop Elements 3.0 (much cheaper) together with ACR 3.2. The FZ30 RAW format is also compatible with the NeatImage (perfect for noise reduction)plugin version for ACR.

Silkypix also has FZ30 RAW support but I think that package has less features than the above.

RAwshooter Premier2006 is out and 59 dollars and it works very well, and RAwshooer essentials 2006 will be out soon with support for the FZ30 and its free.

You can download a trial of premier here
