thanks - very encouraging!

kenmck -> well, cool is the right word in this case ;-)

suze -> this is one of those things I always wanted to do - now I've got the right camera!

narmer -> the dcr250 is not so expensive, but you have to get used to these small dimensions. But start seaching an olympus alife size lens! I needed 4 months to find one (30$). Try to get one with the original diffusor.
But my diffusor in the carnival joke is very similar and adjustable:

+22 diopter - freehand was just a test after reading that tchuanye is shooting freehanded with his reversed 55mm lens. I prefer cheap used "enlarging lenses". Look for rodagon (eg. f:4 50mm) or componon lenses. These are symetric 6 lens constructions, calculated for small distances. They have a 39mm thread - there are adapters (leica) for this thread available. I like these small lenses and will test these and some apochromatic lenses (150mm, 210mm) soon.

Talking about SOMEONE - I am missing Hiroshi, he is still working hard. I hope he will be back soon.
