I have been scanning the reviews of the new FZ30 for reference to cable release, or remote shutter control, and haven't seen anything, does anyone know if this will be possible, it's one of the things my FZ15 is missing

Yeah the remote shutter is a DMW-RS1E. Do a search on E Bay, should find one for around £12.

It is possible, you can buy it, it is cheap, or you can make it, it is cheaper (and easy).

I've done the mine and works great, thanks to the help from Stan, Rhombuss
