DVD media holds about 4.5 Gig of data (about 6x that of a CD).

It will, therefore, work just as a CD would, just more room.

Here is what you could do:

If you can hook up your Windows XP PC to your TV, then you could create subfolders on your DVD of your folders then simply go to that folder for the slide show mode in My Computer.

There is lotsa after market software that could enhance your slide show with fade in/fade out, etc but this would be the cheapest way to go.

Many thanks to each and all for your help, I downloaded the trial version of Proshow Gold, the simple way the program works and it did everything I wanted and more.

I've been using windows movie maker to do this. It's worked great with no problems. It comes with Win XP Home. Not sure about any other versions of Windows.
