Hi Everyone,

I just bought the FZ30, after reading almost every review the net offered, and i must say that i am impressed by the user friendlyness and grip of the camera. My former camera was a Olympus C5060 Wide-zoom. A very good camera with a serious lack of zoom (that problem is fixed now

I have been playing around with the options, but can't seem to get onething right...let's say i would like to take a close up photo of the eye of my wife...i tried the manual focus, sitting something like 40 cm away and using the zoomlens to close-up the eye... i cannot seem to get a sharp picture, also tried macro, but for the macro i am to far away.... any suggestions how to set the camera right?

Don't use the tele (leave it on 35mm), use the macro and get closer to the eye....

*The zoom lens is not designed to work at its telephoto position from such a distance (40 cm), you need to be farther from your subject.* Check the manual, there you should have specifical information on how close to your subject you can be for a given zoom range.
