Finally got some time to post a few sample pictures of the Kodak Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar wide-angle and tele adaptors used on the Pana FZ5.
All images are linked to ImageShack. Click on the thumbnail to see the full-size pictures. All originals were taken at the highest resolution (5MP, TIFF), resized to 800 X 600 and compressed to JPEG (quality setting = 100). Crops of 800 X 600 were taken from the originals, also compressed to JPEG (quality setting = 100). These are the lens converters on the FZ5 - as other users commented, both converters screw onto the lens shade/ filter adaptor of the FZ5 without difficulty, except the plastic threads on the lens shade/ filter adaptor are rather flimsy. There is no problem with clearance with the front of the protruding zoom lens of the camera. ![]() ![]() The first two sets are with the WA adaptor. The WA adaptor (0.7X) broadens the field from 36mm to about 25 mm. Another set with the WA adaptor (I just did this set today) - I did not make any perspective correction to make the building straight. All I want to show is the clarity and sharpness of the images, without any alteration.

These sets are with the tele adaptor on the FZ5 - they were taken in the middle of winter well below freezing, so there was a lot of shimmer from the heat given off by buildings - they are NOT defects of the lens or adaptor!
The tele converter (1.4X) increases the maximum zoom from 432 mm to about 600 mm. A note about "zoom scale" - I believe that when it says "3X" on the zoom scale it does not mean 3X zooming of a standard lens - but 3X zooming from the widest field of the lens (36mm). Reason: the zoom scale goes up to 12X. 36mm (max. WA) X 12 = 432mm (max. tele).
