Hi, I own an FZ 1. Have been using it for about 3 years and has never given me any problem. However recently I have encountered this problem where the picture is only captured after the 2nd burst of flash (delayed). Does anyone knows why it happens?

Thank you.

I'm not sure whats going on here. Have you contacted Panasonic ? Fmoore and a few of the other guys that have FZ1's may be your best bet for getting help on this one.

The second flash shutting happens only when you choose Anti-red Eye flash setting. Flash settings are choosen when flash is open with the right side of the 4 way button.

You may have the flash set to S (Slow sync) which causes a considerable delay. See pg 35 of the fz1 manual.
