I, too, as did bayourebel, print what squirrel posted to read and re-read. And I feel lucky too, when I get one decent photo. Thanks squirrel for taking the time to write the information out and I truly admire your work.

I think you may like a polariser - about £6 from ebay. Got a circular one for my fz30 (does a linear one work with digicams?) and helps with clouds on landscapes - brings out the blues and makes the clouds more cloudy!

I like post 1, hope you dont mind, but I think it looks better in b+w and with the contrast up a bit (sorry wouldnt normally mess with others photos). I think the composition with the diagonal left to right and the balance of shades moving to the light works. Though your original photo has the interesting blues going on, not really sure on second thoughts if it benefits from being in b+w anyway it all depends on the mood you were trying to capture

I guess its all done to personal tastes, I'm very much learning and while it is nice to get the framing right first time, photoshop and similar allows simple retouches to have a big effect.
