We have an inland harbor, and I have been on the lake side of it so I am shooting across the harbor with buildings and trees in the background. Mainly for practice at getting used to this G3 as I have had it just a few weeks. I still have some figuring out to do but the camera seems quite good at focusing on the bird in the foreground instead of the background. I am using spot focus and enlarging the square one time.

Richard,
This series of Gulls pictures are excellent. It isn't easy to take pictures of flying birds with a M4/3 camera. Thanks for the shooting tips! Michael

Thanks. And actually, my name is Steve. I forgot I changed my signature line and need to add that when posting.
I got the G3 because it was said to have fast focus and I was not pleased with the searching my (acquired in October) E-PL1 was doing more than half the time when trying to do birds. And I was not about to lay out the cash for an OMD without renting one, which would have cost a third of what the G3 cost. Steve
