Default One shot pano using a glazing globe

Another use for Panorama Tools: remapping from “Convex Mirror” to
“PShere”. The top photo is taken straight down on a gold colored gazing
globe lawn ornament. The technique is interesting as is the result.

Clearly shows the distortions of a bad lens. The gazing globe is only slightly
closer to a good lens than the bottom of an old Coke bottle.

Very nice - I'm gonna have to dig in the ornament box to look for an optical quality globe. That is better than our gazing globe.

I like the coat-hanger and tape holding the "optical glass".

FYI, the coat hanger is nice as it doesn't get in the way too much, but with the weight of the ornament as it is at the end of a thin "wire", it oscillates/wobbles real easy.

Any breeze, setting off the camera's self timer, etc... will cause it to wobble.

I found as I set off the self timer I had to touch the orn' to stop it moving before I backed away.

Just so's ya' know

Bill,

I really like the painterly, antiqued effect from your glazing globe. It really adds an artistic, moody quality. One could spend a long time in Photoshop trying to get that effect....
