Default DA* 55mm f/1.4 Review

DPReview has just posted a full review of Pentax's new DA* 55mm f/1.4 lens:

It's interesting... they loved the lens when it worked right but pointed to issues involving optic alignment and focusing, which are probably related. They needed three lenses before they could follow through with their test - and still had problems.

Is it my imagination or does this issue seem to keep popping up to various degrees with most modern Pentax lenses - particularly the DA* line? I have that distinct impression. I wonder if this is a greater problem with Pentax versus the other major lens makers.

Not sure if this pertains, but the Pentax 18-250 I had bought back in May had focusing issues. I gave it back to the guy I bought it from and he sent it in for repairs. They had to realign the lenses in it.

One of the reasons I'm looking to buy the Tamron 18-250 instead.
