Default I just received my Pentax 18-135 DA lens

I just received my Pentax 18-135 DA lens and though I have only taken a hand full of sample pictures here is what I know. Comparing this lens with my Sigma 18-125 it is noticeably quicker to focus. I swapped the two lenses out several times at different test subject and every time the focus was much quicker with the Pentax. The other noticeable difference is the noise level of the motor. The Pentax motor noise is almost non existent. Not the Sigma was noisy but the Pentax is sooo much quitter. So my hope of a well matched lens with my new K-r seems to be happing. The weather is on the down side here on the east coast today but I hope soon to give it a real run outside. So far so good.

Hi rritter,

Congrats on the new lens.

It's good to see some personal reviews of new lenses that are out there. I've seen some samples on other fora, and it looks to be a winner.

Looking forward to seeing some pics from it when the weather allows.

Do post some pictures when you get some that are representative of it - I've been sort-of half thinking about it recently. I want something in the normal range that's weather sealed and had been planning on getting the DA*16-50. But I've been intrigued by the 18-135 specs.
