I pair my macro lens FA100mm2.8 with a TC Tamron2X. Here is the resultant pict of a ruler showing the sizse

Sorry about the size of pict as I want to show the full version of this tiny area of only about 1.8cm wide.

The combo gave me 2x of 1:1. That is a lot of magnification. In real life macro that may be difficult in the field.

Some degradation is necessary to squeeze that 100% increase in magnification. In ideal lighting situation, that is new stuff that I can explore.

Gee the DofF is little too which is tricky

What do you guys think?

This is the full frame I took with a 50mm A 1.4 reversed on the front of a 28mm A 2.8 on ist DS.

Like you say, not practical in the field or for depth of field.

That is a nice shot, the reversed lens works very well. Doesn't matter what you use, when you get that close the DOF gets real thin.
