Roy, you're correct. I was using both the smc P-M 50mm f/1.4 and the kit lens. With the manual lens, I believe I was shooting at f/2 or f/1.4. I should have shot wider with the kit lens, but I couldn't get closer to that one cactus without losing my balance. In retrospect, falling into the cactus patch would have made a good photo story.

I like #5 also - the backlighting is very effective. I like the 4th one better than the second one, but the DOF is a little too small.

I went to the botanical garden and discovered the cactus part of it. I took a bunch of pictures and had far fewer decent shots than you have here! Cactus is harder to shoot than you would think, especially with a dSLR.
