Hi there,

thanks to everybodies help here I decided for a Tamron 70-300mm lens - these are the first shots taken with it, be my guest and have a look here:

#1 - finch in a birdhouse

#2 -4 blackbird shots:

My findings:

- this lensgives much better results than my current 28-210mm Voigtlaender lens in the means of sharpness
- CA is an issue on the tele end if there is strong contrast (see 1st pic in #2)
- compared with my Pentax-FA 28-105 IF this lens focusses much slower in AF mode and has to hunt more. For fast moving objects and shallow DOF I have to practise MF I guess.

At 127.00 EUR new/storebought (before shipping) this lens seems to be a real bargain so far. I'll do some more tests and can post here if anyone is interested.

It did very well on your blackbird shots. Nice and sharp.
