Daniel, I really like these. As for the last two, I'm not sure of which I prefer. The one in portrait mode somehow conveys the athmosphere with the ceiling far up in the sky, whilst the landscape mode version seems to have more details to discover on second or third glare.

I don't understand the obsession with blown highlights. They never bothered me as long as the exposure overall was in the right ballpark. In a scene like that one I always feel as though the areas of intense brightness really convey the 'feel' of the blinding sun poking through into the sanctity (?) of the man-made structures.

Why crop? The proportion is very pleasing to my eye.
