Harriet that homemade extension tube works great, have you tried it with the phoenix.

What I like even more is that you take the chance to get some pictures during a break at work.
My only problem I have when doing that is to get back to work.

My favourite has to be the spray flower, closely followed by the gum tree.

Nice work Harriet, I also emptied an old Takumar-A 2X teleconverter, so I still have auto exposure. Haven't tried it much yet though.

Thanks for the complements, everyone. Ronny - the Phoenix is already a close-focusing lens so the extension tube wouldn't help it (it can do 1:2 or 1:1using the matched adaptor that comes with the lens, and I don't see any degradation using it).

I started to read through the flash thread (lots of information) but there's still a couple of things I think I'm missing. At the moment I'm reading through the Magic Lantern K10 book, and there's a whole chapter on flash (haven't gotten that far yet, though). Maybe that will sort it out for me.

Indeed it was a interesting experiment with wonderful results. I particularly like the bark shot in No. 3.

I think you had great results, especially with the spray flower. A dedicated macro could not have done better.
