QUESTIONS I have regarding the Hoya buy-out :

Is it a good thing or a bad thing, that Hoya bought Pentax ?

Will it affect, positively or negatively, Pentax's line of consumer products especially the DSLR line and the lens line ?

What about the Samsung connection ? Will this be severed or will Penatx continue to have ties with this giant electronic company and will the tie bear fruit, in co-development in electronics to enable Pentax to continue to compete with industry giants...Nikon and Canon ?

Should I hesitate in considering buying a K100D or K10D ?

No one can tell you for sure lensmore. It has certainly could be the best thing to happen to Pentax, Hoya has a long history in optics, much deeper pockets, and more modern management. Pentax as a division of Hoya could come out and really seize market share.

If you are looking for a first DSLR I don't think you can go wrong with the K100. Our resident "insider" can only provide vague leaks but there are apparently even more models coming out this fall. I don't think Pentax is going to disappear from the camera market.
