Well, I landed my first big, paid job. I will be shooting bridal portraits for a friend of a friend of a friend. I know where I want the exposure, locations, setup and equipment, but I am struggling with posing. This has always been my weak point, any help would be greatly appreciated!

congrats on getting the paying job nick! that tamron 28-75 is going to come in nicely. as for coming up with how to pose people i usually look at what other people have done and just copy what they did. i try to get a mental image of how i would have done it. there are tons of photos online of wedding pictures, so i take in as many ideas as i can and just imitate as best to my ability.

Follow the linkfor some ideas:

I feel for you. ;-)

I'd agree with ishino. Study other photographers' images to see what works and what doesn't.

Mark1616 just recently started shooting weddings and you may find that some of his images give you posing ideas.

See this thread for a few images he posted:

Mark's full album that includes lots of photos of the bride and wedding party is here. Click on All and you can get one page with all thumbnails.
