Spent 3 days up in Manchester this week and remembered to take the camera :-)

There is a market in front of the Town Hall every year so that's where I headed. Taking photos at night always presents a challenge. Hopefully I got a few that are worth viewing. All are handheld at either 400 or 800 ISO using the 18-55 kit lens.

Once upon a time they had an inflatable Santa looking over the Town Hall, this year he has been replaced with this:

Made up of 100,000 lights.

To put it all in context:

That's the Town Hall behind, with clock tower and the market in the foreground. Or from a different location it looked like this:

It had rained pretty much all of Monday so the market was a little quiet

By the way, does anyone want a bratwurst?

Personally, I blame this chap:

Should you be daft enough to want to see any more I have a set of 25 including the above on Flickr. They are also at 1024 x 768.

Very nice, Keith, considering the low lighting conditions.

Those are some nice sharp shots in low light conditions. I have to say, though, that is the most evil looking Santa I have ever seen. Seriously, that expression could give a kid nightmares!
