A few shot from my last weekend trip to the Smoky Mtns.

Unfortunately, it rained most of the day Friday and all day on Saturday so I didn't get many photo opportunities.

The Wild Deer at Cades cove are almost as tame as domestic cats.

Finally, there was water in the sluice for the wheel. But, it was diverted as the mill was undergoing repairs.

A waterfall along side the highway between Cades Cove and Gatlinburg.

If you're ever around Lynchburg, TN, the tour here is a must.

And, finally as seen in an earlier post, our last stop on the way home.

Very nice series--The Smokies Mountain area is beautiful--visited there many years ago, and should make a trip back. I'm only about 4 hours away.

Beautiful lighting on the deer--what time of day was it?

Beautiful shots of a beautiful area. I attended training once in Lawrenceburg TN, not too far from Lynchburg, and fell in love with the area. I love to see photos from the mountains of TN and KY.

Very nice, Eddy. May I ask what lens you used to get these? I tried some shots of swans this weekend, but couldn't get close enough. I'm not good at judging how far away they were from me. From my learning to drive days - if a gas station is about 500 feet long, maybe that far away??

Cades cove is a great place to get photos of deer, turkeys, and even some bears. I've seen lots of them, but have never made the trip myself. It is on my list of places to get to. Looks like you had a very good trip and got some very good shots.

When you were in Lynchburg you were just 40 miles north of me Eddy. Hope you had a good trip. The wife and I have decided to stay away from Gatlinburg as it is to touristy now a days! Cades Cove is alright but once you've seen it you don't really want to go back...I've been there 3 times now.

My wife and I "plan" to be in the area the end of this month. Her brother and his wiferecently completed building a log home in Pigeon Forge. I've been to Cades Cove many times, and still love to visit there.

The GSM National Park is one of my favorite places on earth, even though I haven't been there in many years. Like Dawg, I'm not so wild about Gatlinburg, but I don't think I'd ever tire of the park itself. Always enjoy seeing good photos from there...nicely done.
