There's a frequent tension on the steps from my side patio as my long haired cats try to find ways up to the bird feeders. Today, however, an enterprising Carolina Wren found a side benefit to having a shedding white cat in the neighborhood

He was proud enough of his find to want to show it off

Some others from the morning

This chickadee seemed intent on finding a way to climb into the feeder

But not all my visitors had feathers. This is one of four deer that were checking out the power line cut behind my house just after dawn (shot from distance of about80 yards or so with 400mm lens)
