I missed this post the first time around. Great shot Irena, I love the high level of detail in the flower and the unusual background really sets the subject apart. Was this with the kit lens?

Thank you, Tim!

Yes.. this one was shot with one of my 2 kit lenses.. with 18-55mm (with the following settings at aperture priority that is my favorite..
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 55 mm ISO Speed: 100
Actually I got a nice effect from the deffect for the background.. I was holding the cover of basket in one hand while focussing and shooting with other.. was really uncomfortable, but I am too impatient for to use a tripod.. so a background turned out with a motion blur.. I only had to crop off my thumb from the top left corner..

I did a couple of shots also with my other lens.. I'll enclose a few here..

The following shot is done still in aperture priority, other details are: Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500) Aperture: f/7.1 Focal Length: 180 mm ISO Speed: 200
[line]And one more - aperture priority, Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/800) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 160 mm ISO Speed: 200
[line]All the shots are handheld, on my balcony.. where I have a meadow of fresia flowers by now.. these are alive and not cut yet..

As you can see in image below (taken with lumix FZ50 though)..

[line]That's all, folks!
